Harrods Hill
Neighborhood
Harrods
Hill is a neighborhood in southwestern Lexington, KY that is located just
outside New Circle Road adjacent to Harrodsburg Road in the 40513 zip code.
Development of this community was begun in the early 1980's with construction
on the last home completed in 1997. Mature trees abound in this tree-lined
neighborhood. Trails for walking, jogging and biking adjoin the neighborhood,
as well as a park and a neighborhood pool. Beaumont Centre and Palomar
Centre offer a variety of shopping experiences within walking distance.
In
times of need, the people of Harrods Hill are known for pulling together
to help their neighbors and friends. It is not unusual for neighbors to
join together in tree planting, snow removal and to keep watch over the
safety of the neighborhood.

Neighborhood
children have a lot of opportunities for play. Streets are generally
low traffic and quite safe for biking, skating and 'boarding. The
neighborhood includes 12 acre Harrods Hill Park which contains four soccer
fields with netted goals, basketball courts, a playground and adjacent
off-street parking. Picnic tables and grills are located under shade trees
at the Park's edge. A cupola provides shelter in the event of a sudden
shower. Paved walking trails run around and through the park.

is located nearby and is also within walking distance. Neighbors
seeking more challenging outdoor exercise have the opportunity to bike
or jog along the protected sidewalks of Man-O-War Boulevard to Keeneland
Raceway and to the verdant and picture-perfect horse farms that are located
on low traffic roads behind Keeneland.
The
Harrods Hill Neighborhood Association sponsors a very Americana Fourth
of July Parade, an Easter egg hunt, a Holiday Home Decorating contest and
a neighborhood garage sale.
